  1. QBBSort [2.2]

  3. This program assumes the use of FrontDoor. No other mailer platform
  4. is supported. Period.
  5.  
  6. QBBSort.Exe sorts an entire QuickBBS style echomail message base
  7. in ascending order, depending on the date and the time of the messages.
  8.  
  9. The DOS environment variable "FD" is assumed to point to FrontDoor's
  10. system directory. If this variable is missing the file Fd.Sys will be
  11. searched in the current directory. If Fd.Sys couldn't be found the
  12. program aborts.
  13.  
  14. The program first checks to see if there is enough hard disk space left.
  15. After sorting the old Msg*.Bbs files will be renamed to Msg*.Bak.
  16.  
  17. The file Lastread.Bbs will be updated if it's located in the same
  18. subdirectory as the other Msg*.Bbs files. The message numbers will
  19. be kept on the same logical position where they appeared before
  20. sorting and renumbering.

  22. If there's a new message addressed to the sysop (the first user found
  23. in the file Fd.Sys) which has not yet been read the lastread pointer
  24. for this folder will be set to this new message. Additionally, this
  25. will be showed on the screen and an acoustical signal (if the "audio
  26. begin" and "audio end" time in Fd.Sys allows this) will be issued.

  28. *ATTENTION* The program does not attempt to update any RemotAccess
  29.             or QuickBBS user files or more than the first 200 last-
  30.             read pointers.

  32. Start QBBSort.Exe without any command line parameter. Walk through
  33. the options menu and use the F1 key to read more about the various
  34. parameters and options available. If any command line parameter is
  35. present this menu will be skipped and program execution immediately
  36. begins.

  38. After complete sort an attempt to relink all messages by executing
  39. Tsutil.Exe is done. Tsutil.Exe is assumed to be located in the DOS
  40. path. If EMS memory or hard disk space is available QBBSsort.Exe
  41. first will swap itself before executing Tsutil.

  57. Exe-file is too big or the program execution is too slow.
  58. Simple erase Qbbsort.Exe and switch to any similar program
  59. if available (I doubt this).
